Why not enjoy a different dram this Burns Night?
We’ve added a few Scottish twists into this week’s menu to celebrate Burns Night which is held on Monday 25th January.
Burns Night is widely renowned as a commemoration of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns’ birthday. After his death in 1796, Burns Night has taken place around the world to celebrate his life and words. Although this year we cannot head out to enjoy a Burns Night supper, we can still commemorate his name with friendship, food and drink at home.
No Burns Supper is complete without a hearty meal, a wee dram and several traditional toasts to the great poet.
Central to the festivities is the cutting of the Haggis – as a CIN CIN tip of the hat to Burns Night, enjoy the Haggis Arancino served with Leek Agliata.
Rob Roy Cocktail
Here’s a bottle and an honest friend!
What wad ye wish for mair, man?
What kens, before his life may end,
Wha his share may be o’ care, man?
-Robert Burns from the poem A Bottle and a Friend
